ROPER Vertical Folding Industrial Overhead Door with side guides and a tubular steel structure, controlled by counterweights. Its operation is based on two hinged leaves that, when opened, fold vertically, held on the guide by a head and guided by pulleys that slide along the side guides, always controlled by counterweights through a system of pulleys and cables. These counterweights can be housed in drawers in the opening area or concealed behind the supports covered by casings.
Frame:
The fence is constructed with a cold-rolled tube frame and internal tubular reinforcements to prevent deformation and enhance wind resistance.
The tubes used for manufacturing this type of doors include:
DECAPOX Tubes of 60×30, 80×40, or 100×40, with quality E-220 according to UNE EN 10305-5 standard. GALVANIZED Tubes of 60×30, 80×40, or 100×40, with quality E-220 + Z-275-NAC according to UNE EN 10305-5 standard. Enclosure of the Sheet:
The Industrial Overhead Door is manufactured with three different types of sheet enclosures:
Sheet: The sheets are made of pre-lacquered steel strip, DX51 according to EN-10142 standard, with an average thickness of 0.6 mm and without a removable film. They are ribbed in 200 mm modules and can be placed vertically or horizontally. These sheets are assembled under compression and welded to the frame of the door. Sandwich Panel: These panels have a thickness of 40 mm and are manufactured using pre-lacquered sheet metal on galvanized steel, following EN-10142 standard. The interior of the panel consists of expanded polyurethane with an average density of 40 kg/m³, free of CFC and HCFC. Two panel formats are used, one with a height of 500 mm and another with 610 mm. Bars: These are formed by galvanized tubes of dimensions 20×20, 40×20, 40×30, or 60×30, with quality E-220 + Z-275-NAC according to UNE EN 10305-5 standard.
Guides:
The guides are made of hot-rolled steel UPN profiles with dimensions of 60 x 30, 80 x 45, or 100 x 50, and quality S 275 JR + M according to EN 10025-2/2004.
Hinges:
Depending on the dimensions of the door, two different types of hinges are used:
For small doors, the hinges consist of three modules made of 2.5 mm thick decapitated sheet metal, curled with a calibrated Ø 8 rod. For large doors, the hinges consist of four modules made of 5 mm thick decapitated sheet metal, curled with a calibrated Ø 12 rod. Locking System:
The closure is achieved either through lateral bolts or an external lock that acts on the lateral bolts. The bolts can be either Ø 12 or Ø 18 rods.
Headers:
Depending on the dimensions of the door, two types of headers are used:
For small doors, they consist of a 6 mm thick steel rim and a Ø 16 pin. For large doors, they consist of an 8 mm thick steel rim and a Ø 25 pin. Counterweights:
The counterweights are made of barite. Their dimensions depend on the size of the door and the space available to accommodate them.
Pulleys:
Pulleys are formed from sheet steel with thicknesses of 1.2, 2, or 4 mm, riveted and with self-lubricating bearings embedded inside. For large doors, turned iron pulleys are used.
Rollers:
Rollers are made of either polyamide or steel, depending on the door’s dimensions or usage.
Cables:
Cables can have thicknesses of 4, 5, 6, or 7 mm, depending on the weight of the door. They are composed of 6x19s1 and comply with DIN 3060 standards.
The quality of this door is backed by tests conducted in accredited laboratories, following product standard EN 13241-1, and it is marked for both manual and automatic versions. Both the components used in the door and its finish will depend on the door’s dimensions, its variant, and the opening available at the construction site. They may also be subject to possible changes due to production process improvements.
